Tuberculosis Agreement

Once rare in developed countries, tuberculosis infections began to rise in 1985, in part because of the emergence of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. HIV weakens a person`s immune system, so it cannot fight the germs of tuberculosis. In the United States, tuberculosis began to decline in 1993 due to enhanced control programs, but remains a problem. In Vietnam, TB and HIV services are provided through independent and vertical programmes. Although data exchange mechanisms exist at all levels between the two programs (illustration), the actual exchange of data between provinces and districts is different. Therefore, integrating data on patients` HIV status and treatment into the TB system and on TB diagnosis and treatment is a challenge for patients in the HIV system. Although in 2012, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health adopted Decision No.

Species on the Move

An International Conference Series

The conference brings together scientists and natural resource managers working in the disciplines of global change, biogeography and evolution, and relevant in contexts of natural resource management, biodiversity management and conservation, and theoretical ecology.

Species responses to climate change is a rapidly evolving research field, however, much of our progress is being made in independent research areas: e.g. understanding the process vs responding to the implications, terrestrial vs marine ecosystems, global meta-analyses vs in depth species-specific approaches. This interdisciplinary conference develops connections between these parallel streams, and across temporal and spatial scales.
