My research aims to use a macroecological approach to study the causes and consequences of animal movement, particularly under climate change. The main phenomenon that I investigate is the seasonal migrations of birds across latitudes and altitudes, which I study using mechanistic models that leverage a diversity of data sources, such as biologging, participatory science, and genomics. Other topics I am interested in exploring include (i) how propagules and information spread in populations of moving animals; and (ii) how habitat change affects species distribution and community composition, with ongoing field studies in the mountains of Taiwan and Mexico.
