Fabricio Villalobos is mexican macroecologist based at the Instituto de Ecología A.C. – INECOL, Mexico. He obtained his PhD from the National University of Mexico (UNAM) and postdoctoral experience from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) in Brazil, for both of which he is a registered advisor of their graduate programs in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Fabricio’s research hinges on the intersection between macroecology and macroevolution, studying biodiversity patterns under an evolutionary perspective and evolutionary processes/patterns in a spatial context. He is currently a Full Researcher, Level 3 (highest), at INECOL and one of the founding senior editors of the upcoming diamond open-access journal Biogeography.
